Good idea. Awkward implementation
Got this for my 2021 CX-5 to have an extra place for my phone to display. Doesn’t quite work like I’d hoped.Pros+ Quality. The plastic on this holder is very sturdy. It should be able to handle sun and cold just fine.+ Fit. The cover for the screen fits like a glove. Almost don’t need the adhesive strips to hold it in place. Well enginered.+ Storage. The extra storage on the top is nice. Some odds and ends that you need to reach for frequently are great to put up there.Cons+ The whole reason I got this is to hold my phone. But it puts the phone in an awkward spot. It’s too close to the dashboard on the left side so you can’t turn it horizontally. And it covers part of the screen on the right side so you can’t see all of the options when you’re pushing buttons on the navigation and entertainment. Very frustrating to be distracted like this too much. It doesn’t seem to be worth the hassle to me.

Wish it didn’t rattle…
It fits my Highlander perfectly—so glad for that! It’s hard to find a phone holder that works due to the position of the vents. My only issue is that if you don’t have a phone in it, the holder rattles. So even if I’m just going around the corner, I have to plug my phone in each time. Not a huge deal, though.
