A new spin on our classic design. Before the introduction of the OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner in 1998, crank or pull-tab salad spinners were considered high-end products. Some people even used the spin cycle of their washing machine to dry lettuce. Our easy-to-use Spinner transformed the tool into an everyday kitchen essential. Nearly 20 years later, we revisited the spinner to make some updates while keeping the top features and original inspiration: a children’s top. With a modern design that complements contemporary kitchens and an improved brake that stops on a dime every time, we think you’ll love our new spin on the classic design. Dry salad greens with a simple press of the soft, non-slip knob. The non-slip base keeps the bowl steady on the countertop, and the updated built-in brake button stops the salad spinner for unloading. The basket doubles as a colander, and the lid comes apart for easy cleaning. This is the large salad spinner – roomy enough to hold two heads of Romaine lettuce or a full bag of broccoli or string beans.
One-Touch OXO Salad Spinner: Did you know that OXO invented the one-touch salad spinner? Its one-handed pump gives you maximum drying of lettuce with minimum effort
What Makes the OXO Salad Spinner OXO Better: This salad spinner has been designed to be the best – from the one-touch press to pump with force to the patented brake to stop the basket immediately with a simple press. And the non-skid base keeps it firmly in place
Store Salad Spinner Neatly After Use: When you’re done using the spinner as a fruit and vegetable cleaner, press the pump handle down, then slide the storage lock into place. This holds the pump flush with the lid for stacking and storing
Multi-Tasker Not Just For Lettuce: The OXO salad spinner doubles as a vegetable and fruit strainer, and as a serving bowl. Spin lettuce, herbs, beans or fruit. Or use it for meal prep as a lettuce keeper – wash your lettuce before dinner, pop it in the fridge and take it out when ready to serve
Lid Comes Apart for Easy Clean: The lid comes apart on this salad spinner, so moisture won’t build up. All parts are dishwasher safe – top rack is recommended
Customers say
Customers find the salad spinner works exceptionally well, with one mentioning it can handle two heads of romaine lettuce easily. The product features solid build quality with tough clear plastic construction, and customers appreciate its ease of use, with one noting it’s easy to use with one hand. They like its design, particularly the attractive rounded bowl that doubles as a serving dish, and find it makes salad and vegetable cleaning a breeze. While some customers say it dries lettuce very well, others report it doesn’t remove water effectively enough. The size receives mixed feedback – while some find it great for 4-6 person salads, others say it takes up too much storage space.

Still works like my vintage one did!
I bought one of these maybe 20 years or more and hadn’t used it in a long time. When I recently pulled it out to start using again (not buying any more ready-to-eat-Caesar salad kits in the bags that go bad in 2 days) it really smelled bad. Like a dusty sort of smell. So I bought this new one, which now can be taken apart to wash and dry. I recommend drying by hand, especially if you live in an apartment with poor water quality, which creates water spots. I use the basket to rinse off my chopped Romaine lettuce then give it a good spin, stop, empty out the water, then give it one more spin.It takes up a LOT of room in my refrigerator, so I put leftover salad in a smaller container.

Works well and fun to use
OXO doesn’t disappoint. I appreciate having a smaller size spinner. It states that it is for herbs but is actually a perfect size for a single large chopped salad for a day’s lunch. Obviously, the smaller size means smaller storage space. I reach for this smaller spinner more than I do a larger one. Disassembly of the spinner lid was a little scary at first since I thought I was going to break it but its construction is robust, and one just needs to be assertive when doing it. I watched a video to make sure I was doing it right first and then with gusto (!), got the lid disassembled for potential cleaning.

Great little spinner good quality
Love this little salad spinner. My old one was larger and took up a lot of space in my cabinet. It also had a string to pulled that eventually broke into because of the friction. I got the small one there is only two of us. Takes up less room in the kitchen and the camper. I love that you can lock the handle down. The plastic is good quality on both the basket and the bowl. Much thicker than my old spinner. Very easy to pump does a great job of drying. I don’t put it in the dish washer even though it says you can. My last one cracked and it was on the top rack. I would highly recommend.

Efficient and effortless
In hindsight, I probably would have ordered the smaller spinner, but since there were only a few dollars difference between the larger and smaller, I went for the larger. And boy, is it large! I bought this spinner on ATK’s recommendation. I previously had a crank-style spinner with a bowl that had holes in them, in addition to the inner sieve bowl, that I used for over 20 years. It worked well enough, but demanded strength to turn the crank and sometimes demanded “reloading” the lettuce, like when you reload the washer when it goes out of whack. I was amazed that with a few presses of the pump, it spins and spins and spins. I appreciate that I don’t have to use a separate bowl to rinse the lettuces. The inner sieve is very rigid, unlike my old one, which had some flexibility. I appreciate that there is a removable cover under the lid so you can just wash that part, not the whole assembly. My old one would gather gunk on the plastic gears and I had to take it apart to clean it.

Solid, durable, functional
It’s been two years and this salad spinner is still going strong. The only advice I will give is be a little careful taking apart the lid for washing–we’ve had the central mechanism come apart if we popped it out to roughly and putting it back in is a bit of a pain.Otherwise it works great, gets a ton of water out from lettuce, berries, herbs, mushrooms etc. Recently learned it is also great for drying legos if you need to wash them. Definitely would recommend.

Perfect size
Great size. I was hesitant to replace my huge one, thinking it might be too small, but it’s just the right size for 2-3 people.Update: After using a few weeks, we realized water and possibly food were stuck on the inside parts. I watched a video on how to take it apart. What a royal pain. I don’t want to risk getting sick from spoiled food or algae growth, so it’s getting thrown out.

Cost effective and great product.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I had a salad spinner that was another brand that just did not hold up. We ordered the OXO brand because of the reviews and it has been great. Easy to use and spins out the lettuce great. You can also wash fruit and spin it to make them last longer. Overall this is the best salad spinner for the money!

Good OXO product
Easy to use and dishwasher safe. Love that the plunger can be locked down as that makes it easier to store. Not too big and not too small for prepping salads and cleaning vegetables.
