Customers find the flip phone works well for voice calls and text messaging, with an address book that’s easy to set up and use. The build quality receives mixed feedback, with some finding it reliable while others say it’s made of cheap plastic, and the battery life varies between lasting 2-3 days and dying after 1.5 months of usage. Customers disagree on the phone’s size, with some appreciating its small footprint while others find the screen too small, and opinions are divided on ease of use, with some finding it very user-friendly while others say it’s hard to set up. While some consider it an awesome phone for the money, others find it a waste of money, and the WiFi connectivity receives mixed reviews with some reporting poor network connectivity.

Great flip phone option for trouble teens who need to get off social media
This flip phone is exactly what an a teenager who is addicted to social media needs. It allows my child to make and receive phone calls, as well as to do basic texts. A simple call to T-Mobile customer service on her prepaid Sim card plan allowed me to shut the data off. It does have Wi-Fi so if your goal is to eliminate social media, you’re going to have to block this device on your router. I have Comcast and it allows me to Restrict Wi-Fi access based upon each device attached to the network. Don’t underestimate your child’s ability to find other Wi-Fi sources, but the operating system on this phone render it relatively useless. The phone can still access the Internet through an installed browser in the operating system, but it’s fairly rudimentary and , I suspect that it in effect eliminates the desire for social media since it’s so difficult to type out a sentence on a numeric keypad. So my recommendation is 1) buy this flip phone 2) get a T-Mobile, prepaid Sim card and pair it to your child’s cell phone number after you’ve ported the number to T-Mobile 3) select the $10 a month prepaid plan 4) call T-Mobile customer service and ask them to shut off the data on that phone number. They will give you our time and tell you that that isn’t an option, but it is an option and you just need to continue to insist on it and speak to a supervisor if they aren’t willing or able to do what you’re asking. 5) finally, block, access to Wi-Fi on your router for this device. If you do those five things, you may have a chance to have your child back and hopefully pull them away from the devastating draw of social media.

Honest review from a 3 year user.
This phone is overall, pretty mediocre. If you’re an older individual just looking for something simple that calls your grandchildren, has a great battery life, and isn’t bulky. This might be a good choice for you. However, if you’re looking for something that is a debloat from a smartphone to a flip phone. There are serious issues with this approach.tl:drtexting is really bad because of ghosting through physical haptics (you will get a double press sometimes, or no press!) and the volume button is on the side of the device, meaning that when it’s in your pocket, the device will randomly change volume from nothing>vibrate>low volume> high volume. Meaning that you can miss phone calls. You CANNOT disable the side buttons! (also no dimming/red light feature for evenings if you’re into that)This phone runs KaiOS, and it’s rather slow overall. When the phone rings, sometimes the contact name doesn’t show up. The speed at which you can navigate menus is clunky, and it shows sorely that this isn’t an environment that has had millions if not billions of dollars spent on research on the UI. Texting on any flip phone is always cumbersome, but this things is straight up poor. You can ghost a double, or no presses despite the physical haptic feedback, holding the back button DELETES your message instead of rapidly backspacing like on modern phones (lost a 20 min message I was typing on this slow thing). To put it plainly, it’s a cheap phone that doesn’t do anything except calls. I suppose that’s what flip phones are supposed to do primarily, but the fact that it has texting, GPS, and photos baked in with absolutely no quality just makes it seem like it’s more than it is.Also I bought 3 of these, one for myself, and two for my grandparents. The build quality isn’t always the same, sometimes the battery doesn’t fit quite properly and can come loose while in your pocket, or just randomly reset the phone from losing power for a split second.Probably the actual worst aspect of the phone, is the fact that changing the ring volume are physical buttons on the side of the phone. These buttons work EVEN WHEN THE PHONE IS CLOSED! This means that when you have it in your pocket, the volume of the device will be random, anywhere from absolutely silent, to rumble, to low volume to high. The fact that you cannot lock the buttons to not work while the phone is closed is absolutely baffling and makes this phone go from decent to poor in my eyes. It’s not something that gets in your way quite as often as you might think, but it’s definitely enough to cause you pain. After using this for 3 years I simple have to go back to a smart phone, the quality of simple flip phones is just too poor to excuse.

One Of The Best Flip-Phones Available!
Great flip-phone! The Nokia 2780 is consistently reviewed as one of the best flip-phones on the market. The design is excellent, the construction, fit & finish are impressive, and it has several smart-phone type features that should please many. The appearance and feel of this phone is rock solid. The case comes in either red or blue and is quite rugged with a heavy-duty hinge. The top screen displays the time and caller info and is large enough and easy to read. When opened, the main color screen is bright, clear and reads easily. The keyboard is intuitive and has larger keys with a great tactile response. The operating software (KaiOS) works as expected and arrives with an array of mostly useful apps preloaded (minimal bloatware). The phone is super easy to flip open and close. The case back removes simply to expose the sim card slot, a micro SD card slot for storing music, etc., and surprisingly a removeable and long-lasting lithium battery. The phone has a standard 3.5mm headphone input and a state-of-the-art mini USB-C charge port & charger. My impressions of the Nokia 2780 are all positive. I occasionally use it to talk on the phone to others — but mostly as an emergency phone if needed on my motorcycle, bicycle and boat. On Amazon, I purchased a terrific prepaid 1-year unlimited talk & text plan for just $75 with Jethro Mobile. Great service through the T-Mobile network and an absolute bargain. For those of us who prefer to live in a text-free world, this is literally the perfect phone. Folks who frequently text and gamers will find the keyboard useable, but quite cumbersome compared to an Android or iPhone touch screen. However, for the growing number of people who are increasingly unplugging from the grid, or for older people and the very young with simpler communication needs, the Nokia 2780 is a genuine winner. Check it out for yourself.

Bought this for my mom but had to return because there’s no Whatsapp and Facebook app which we wanted to use to chat and data call her. Overall a very good phone for senior people but only for calls and texts.
