Great Learning Tool with Fun Sound Features – Just a Little Room for Improvement
This puzzle board is great for my 1 year old to start to get familiar with the alphabet and phonics! We love Ms. Rachel in our house so she was super happy hearing her voice narrate each letter. The only con is that the narration of the letters are light activated, meaning that you take off the puzzle piece and the exposure to light then activates the puzzle to speak, but it needs a bright, well lit room to work. The puzzle had difficulty when my daughter was playing with it at night with only a floor lamp to illuminate the room. We needed to turn on an overhead light and had no further issues. We also had a scary awakening the next morning when several of the puzzle pieces were off so the sunlight coming in through the window activated the puzzle at 5:30 am, loudly awaking us and letting us know that “C…Cat” haha. The puzzle is well made and works very well for the most part and hopefully my daughter will enjoy it for a long time!

Great quality
Fantastic until we lost Z. Talks when a letter is uncovered so anytime the light gets turned on it tells us about Z

Cute and education
My son is obsessed. Miss Rachel’s voice is on there which he finds intriguing. You can switch it on and off, but when on, it will only work with direct light, as stated on the packaging. 🙂

Danger to tiny hands due to splinter wood particals.
Got Ms Racheal ABC board for my one year old grandson for Easter. The board itself was rough and splintered when opened. The letters with sound worked for maybe an hour total. I am very disappointed because I do hold Mellissa and Doug toys to a better quality than this. I would not recommend this for any age but especially a tiny child and delicate hands.

Our son loves Ms. Rachel so this was a hit! The sound quality is good and it doesn’t come thru fuzzy so it’s easy to understand. Bright colours and smooth pieces that easily go in and out of their places. The only thing is we wish the pieces were a little magnetic so when our toddler flips the board over they didn’t all fall out!

Our toddler who is working on letter sounds loves this! Between the animal pictures, the sounds and the easy to pickup wood pieces, it keeps them busy for a solid 15 minutes at a time.Note: make sure you have 2xAA batteries on hand and a small x head screwdriver to open the battery compartment.Pros:- Not too light sensitive! Other wooden sound puzzles need fairly bright lighting to operate, but this one didn’t seem to have that issue.- really solid build quality! All finished wood with no sharp corners or roughness.- the sound quality is probably the best I have seen in a sound puzzle! The sounds are super clear with no noticeable static.- our toddler loves ms. Rachel’s voice which is also a huge plus as it keeps them engaged.- it’s a Melissa and Doug product which is a very reputable company who definitely screen their products for safety.Cons:- the only con I can think of is it is pricier than other sound puzzles, but at the end of the day, for the number of sensors and pieces it makes sense it would be more.Very happy with our purchase!10/10 would recommend!

Was excited for this for my grandson but doesn’t work properly at all…letters don’t match the sounding….HOWEVER it works perfectly I. The kitchen which has a lot more lighting than just a standard lamp…not ideal but if using the room needs to be extra BRIGHT

Pretty good puzzle overall. You have to be careful and use it in a bright setting on the sound won’t get activated. I didn’t realize the letters were flat and had no pegs/buttons to help toddlers lift them but my toddler has no problem with it. There is no volume control and I find sometimes it’s a little quiet.
