EKO best YAK Cheese on market!
These Yak chews are my dogs favorite chews! They are great quality, hardness, taste great, low to no smell, and my dogs love the texture because they will chew for hours and hours. They will have one Yak chew for 3-5 days! We have Labradoodles and Goldendoodles fairly large dogs and they get bored pretty easily so their bones and chews are pretty important. That is why we chose the Eko brand of Yak cheese. It’s durable, all natural and it’s healthy for our babies! My babies are everything to us so their happiness and health are one of our number one priorities so Eko Yak chews will always be part of our babies routine regime.

My dogs love them
I have small dogs and they love these. These are nice and thick and last a long time of chewing. My dog tends to chew on things when he is bored, but these yak chews have helped curb his chewing on objects he should not be chewing. They are nice and hard and they last long. There is some variance of color, but I have found that in all quality yak chews I have purchased. They seem fresh and do not have any weird smells like you find in other dog chews. They are a little expensive, but it takes a while for my dogs to go thru them so it could be worse.

Favorite for my dog
My standard poodle loves these treats. She is a mega chewer and destroys toys in minutes even the “tough” toys. These bones last a long time and help with her tarter on her teeth. Love that they are all natural and a healthy enrichment for her.

Dangerously Sharp
I am beyond disappointed, im appalled. This recipe for a dog treat is meant for long term chewing. the pet parents buying these treats, myself included, are looking for something that’ll occupy their anxious or energetic pups while they’re unable to be outside. The yak cheese treats are brilliant when made by a responsible brand. Ecokind is not that responsible brand. The treats potential to focus their energy in an engagingly safe, positively challenging, excitingly enjoyable way for the pup & the pup parents lives is HUGE!!It doesn’t keep my pups attention for more than an hour or so because they are just quite difficult to consume. Id compare it to like hard candies for humans – it isn’t easy to chew and requires a lot saliva to begin breaking it down. and, like a jawbreaker or something, it will just get boring or your mouth will tire out before youre willing to dive back in again lol. That being said, these specific yak cheese treats by Ecokind are straight up dangerous. I included a video along with several photos where I’ve highlighted one section in particular, how sharp this treat becomes all over as it splinters as it breaks down. Hopefully the video wasn’t compressed to a level that eliminates the detail. If there video isn’t helpful, I also included a different brand’s treat that has about the same amount of attention & the cmparison is night & day.VIDEO TLDR: there’s several places on the treat broke down & now resemble little arrowheads coming out of the treat basically. They’re sharp as heck. I rubbed my fingertip against them with as much pressure as I could without hurting myself and I was able to easily cut through the very top layer skin without the arrowhead part even moving a millimeter. It’s honestly so sad to think about because this is just the side that I could easily display in a photo. All the other pointy parts couldn’t really be photographed with my non-photographer lighting cause it would just blend in to the background of the treat.Dogs won’t stop eating something just because it cut them & made their mouths bleed. They’ll just find an easier way to consume it.I had bought two brands at the same time – i don’t even know why lol I think i just wanted to see if one was better because there are so many brands offering this same recipe on amazon. Good thing I did tho… if you’re going to buy these treats, buy them from Mighty Paws, the treat on the right in the pics. Or even just try a different brand instead & just make sure you constantly check the way they’re breaking down until you’re certain they break down safely. You dont have to get mighty paws, but if you love your pet, dont buy from Ecokind.Protect your pups stay away from this brand.

Mediocre option. There are better choices at this price point!
I have tried a wide variety of yak cheese chews, from the more economic options to the most expensive. Ecokind sits in the middle as far as quality goes, hence the three star rating. I ended up with two 1 lb bags of Ecokind chews as a coworker gifted me one at the same time that I ordered a bag for myself, so I had eight large chews to evaluate.SIZING: The sizing is inconsistent. Normally, there is a variance as this is a naturally made product (just a really hard cheese), but the sizing of these Ecokind chews varies DRAMATICALLY. Each bag seems to contain one chew suitable for a 25 lb dog and another that you could give to a 75 lb dog, plus a couple for a 50 lb dog. This may work well for some folks who have a variety of dogs, but I only have one dog and want the sizing to be more uniform.QUALITY: I’m disappointed with the quality. One chew had a thread embedded into the entire chew. A thick, blue thread. No way to extract all of it, so that chew got thrown out (glad I did not pay for that one). These chews do not quite shatter/splinter, but they do not crumble as finely as the best yak cheese chews do. It frequently cracks into chunky pieces similar in size to large breed kibble, which the dog then needs to chew further in order to digest properly. The pieces are not sharp, so I deem them safe enough to continue chewing, but I would absolutely ensure any chewing sessions are supervised. Due to the lack of true crumble factor, the Ecokind chews do not last nearly as long as other brands I have tried. As of August 2019, I did NOT have any mold issues as each pack contained silica gel to absorb any excess moisture.OVERALL: Decent value for the price point, but with the sizing inconsistencies, chunky shatter quality (instead of crumble factor) and lack of quality control, I will not be purchasing Ecokind again. My preferred brand is Everest for consistent quality in sizing, long-lasting (and safer) crumble factor and overall value.

Takes my Labrador about a day to finish one bar, so it’s good as a long-lasting chew (relatively).
