It’s a nice assortment to have on hand.All 4 edges have a sharp little burr but that isn’t a factor for what i am using them for.

No size marking on any piece
The pieces of shim stock are great. The main problem is that None of the pieces are marked as to what thickness they are. ONLY because I have a digital caliper because I’m a machinist, did I have access to measuring each piece. Then i labeled each one with a Sharpie for future use. Of course, even with the measuring instrument, it took a lot of time just to measure and mark each of 33 pieces. Plus I put a small piece of tape around each size category for identification. Overall- good value for the money. One star de-rated for no size markings

BEWARE MIXED INCH AND METRIC DIMENSIONS
The Headline for the product entry only mentions 1″ x12″. The thicknesses however in the “about this item” section are in millimeters, which I admit I missed. Needless to say they weren’t quite as thick as I expected. The thinnest were .02mm making them .0008 inches thick. No surprise that those thinnest “shims” were damaged inside the package. (They were creased and the edges were very ragged -useless if you want to use them for shim stock.) The thicker pieces were OK however -in terms of no damage. I didn’t check the thickness of the individual pieces but the entire lot of them measured under an 1/8 of an inch on my dial calipers.

Labels would help
I received something, I don’t know what because nothing was labeled, I have no idea what thickness is what as not a single piece was labeled, each piece will have to be individually miked. At this point I can’t even verify that I received the correct items, let alone use them.

How to review….As others have mentioned, the thinnest pieces are a bit wrinkled, so if you have an application that needs 5 digit shim accuracy, look elsewhere (but you likely wouldn’t be looking on Amazon anyway). They also seem to mic closer to 0.0003 than 0.0007, but that’s with a standard dial caliper. I didn’t try them with a micrometer.The measurement inconsistencies (imperial in one place; metric in another) in the ad are far too common in Amazon listings, but other than the thinnest stock, The half dozen that I checked seemed to be accurate in their imperial measurements.None are marked with their thickness, but I didn’t expect that anyway. Anyone working at these thicknesses will have the measuring tools and would verify, anyway.A bigger issue for some is the fact that they all were sheared, and all have some ‘sheared edge’ to them that is going to affect thickness. Expect to spend some time cleaning that up if using in a critical application.If you’re a tool & die maker, you probably aren’t shopping here, but if you are, you’re likely to be frustrated by these. But if you’re a casual hobbyist, having a relatively inexpensive small assortment like this likely makes sense.

Need better packaging
The shim stock is OK but better packaging is needed to prevent bending. My shim stock arrived in a plastic bag where the shim shock had cut through the bottom of the bag and was hanging halfway out. Not a good first impression. I also count only 22 pieces instead of 24 pieces so 2 pieces may have fallen out somewhere in a warehouse. So the shim stock is ok if you don’t need precision stock.

We bought them to use as shims. Would be 5 star if they were marked / laser edged or something so we know what size it is. Especially for a kit with multiple sizes

I suppose it would be nice for it to have been labeled, but it’s not too difficult to figure out which ones are which based on relative flexibility (hold two pieces horizontally by one end, and whichever end is lower, that’s the thinner one). I stacked a few to compare relative thicknesses, and it seems that the measurements in the picture (in thousandths of an inch) are probably correct. It’s hard to find stock that is this thin for a reasonable price, so this is a good find if it is what you are after. Don’t expect them to be in perfect condition, especially the thinnest ones; they are very delicate.
