INSTRUCTIONS FOR HINGED DOORS 
Step 1
Adjust the length of the bar by pressing the gold button and slightly rotating either tube.
Step 2
Snap the Y-shaped head of the safety bar under the door handle
Step 3
Slide the bottom rubber foot in towards the door until it’s snug and tight.
Step 4
Take care to keep the rubber head free of gaps in the ground.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SLIDING DOORS & WINDOWS 
Step 1
Adjust the length of the bar by rotating either tube.
Step 2
Align the bottom with the sliding door/window frame.
Step 3
Attach the rubber caps to the top.
Step 4
Press the security bar down until it is secure.
Not applicable to doors that open outward.

Make sure you measure your sliding glass door before you buy! Fits for my front door and seems really sturdy. I tried pulling really hard from the inside and I couldn’t move it. I mainly got it for my front door, but since this comes with two, I tried to adjust the other one for my sliding glass door. I’m on a second floor so someone would have to be really determined to get to my patio (bringing a ladder to get onto the patio would be necessary). Unfortunately, this wasn’t long enough to secure the door. I live in a basic old rental, so the door should be “standard” but it doesn’t work no matter how I try to angle it. There just isn’t enough length. I also tried using it shoved under the sliding glass door handle to see if it would work as an alternative way, but it doesn’t. When I tested it by trying to pull the door open, it still opened enough to where someone could reach in and move the bar. And, it threw my sliding door off the track, which isn’t very secure either! I’m bummed because I don’t have a use for the second one now.
