Are knife marks something to worry about?
No, they’re a sign that your cutting board is doing its job. Because wood is softer than your knife, it protects the blade from becoming dull. All wood boards will show knife marks, but with regular oiling, these marks can blend into the wood nicely.
Is this cutting board safe from toxins?
Absolutely! Everything we use to craft our boards is non-toxic and food safe. We avoid formaldehyde-based adhesives, phthalates, BPAs, microplastics, any PFAS like PFOS, and anything that could be harmful.
Why is it necessary to oil wood boards?
Your board gets thirsty just like you! Regular oiling every three weeks is vital for its health and durability. It prevents excess moisture where bacteria thrive and protects against drying out, which can lead to cracking and warping.
Is this board sustainable?
Our dedication to sustainability drives us to use the most renewable materials. Although responsibly sourced wood may come at a higher cost, it has a significantly greater positive impact on the environment.
Will my board look exactly like the pictures on the listing?
The beauty of wood products is that they come from Mother Nature; therefore, every board will have its own unique grain and color. It will not be identical but it will be similar–your board is one of a kind!

DURABLE EDGE GRAIN MAPLE – Maple is the industry standard when it comes to wood cutting boards. It is a hard, closed grain wood, meaning it’s durable and able to resist moisture. The wood is hard enough to allow for clean cuts, but still soft enough to maintain a knife’s edge. Finished safely. Free of BPA, phthalates, and formaldehyde.
REVERSIBLE AND MULTIPURPOSE – Winsome Maple was designed to be the most functional cutting board you’ve ever had. A key feature is our signature built-in Cracker Well that can be used for food prep or for serving and entertaining. Perfectly sized to hold a variety of crackers, sliced baguette, or any small items that may run off your charcuterie board such as nuts, olives, and berries.
DEEP JUICE GROOVE – No more messy countertops from liquids running off your board. Our juice groove holds up to 3.5 oz of liquid to prevent water, juice, and grease from overflowing during meal prep and serving. Perfect for cutting up fruits, vegetables, and carving meats like brisket, roast, prime rib, etc.
STABILITY – Our 1.5 inch thick butcher block style board allows for stability while cutting and the integrated finger grips make it easy to lift, flip or transfer from kitchen to table.
PERFECT GIFT – Each board comes in a beautiful gift box, perfect for any occasion: birthdays, weddings, housewarmings, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and more.

Kitchen Counter Eye Candy
What a surprise, when I opened the shipping box. The package looked like a very pricey gift. Inside, every inch was foam protected to ensure safe and secure handling of the gorgeous cargo inside. The quality, beauty, thoughtful innovation, top-tier craftsmanship, style, sustainable sourcing, domestic small business, humongous value, perfect size and thickness, satin feel, multi-usefulness of both reversible sides, such a deal!, are just a few of the reasons why i love this board!I have carefully hidden every one of my previous cutting boards away from view. This one looks quite awesome and Cheffy and has a permanent home on my kitchen counter.Mid-month and month-end will be oil day.I highly recommend this cutting board!

Perfect size, surface and weight
Likes: Packaging: The box is beautiful, sturdy and provides safe storage for the cutting board.Dimensions: The size and weight are sturdy and a perfect fit for the countertop. Accommodates the cutting/chopping/slicing needs of the two people I cook for.Juice groove: Circles the entirety of the board edges. Easy to clean as it is a bit wider than it is deep.Charcuterie groove: Good size. Accommodates enough finger foods for two.Easy to clean: A cotton cloth, dampened in very hot water, easily cleans this board. So far, no need to scrub or be aggressive. After air drying a thin layer of food grace mineral oil is rubbed in.Minor disappointment: This beautiful maple board is edge grain, rather than end grain. End grain might be better for the high grade, thinly bladed, knives used on it. No aggressive chopping will be done on this board. That, however, may be best for any board.Recommend: Highly recommend. This is a solid board. Not so heavy it is difficult to move but heavy enough it stays still on the countertop under use. Very easy to clean without scrubbing. It is a perfect size for the needs of two people.

Excellent Quality
This cutting board truly deserves 5 stars. As someone who cooks, and uses a cutting board on a daily basis, I believe I’ve found my new favorite board. It’s a great size for a smaller cooking spaces and the thick maple is beautiful. I also really like the fact that this is a small US company that emphasizes customer service. I actually had a question regarding my new board so I sent an email. To my surprise they responded within minutes to assist me. It was such a positive experience.I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Nice board
We have one very nice wood block board, but we are ridding ourselves of plastic cookware so we purchased two more wood boards. This board was one of them and we were very impressed with the quick shipping, the packaging of the board. And the quality of the board.

Stunningly beautiful, incredibly sturdy, masterful workmanship
This is the first time I have been literally stunned at the quality of a product I purchased thru Amazon.I am an architect with plenty of cabinetry, paneling, and furniture design experience for homes of the very wealthy. The quality of this cutting board at this price is unbelievable.I would say the I was struck speechless when I opened the (also beautifully crafted) box it arrived in, except for the fact that I could not stop repeating “this is gorgeous”. It is also quite thick and much heftier than I expected.Included are easily understood and beautifully printed directions on how to maintain the cutting board. One thing to be sure to pay attention to is the direction to wash, dry and oil the block on both sides after using it. I know from experience that with wood you have to balance moisture content/porosity on both sides of a piece of wood. The only thing I can add is to say WOW !

Could be better
After all the great reviews I was really hoping for more with this cutting board. Maybe it’s just mine?We have only used one side right now for cutting vegetables, it’s a good quality wood that won’t damage your expense knives. So that’s good. And hopefully these pictures can show what I’m trying to explain. The first picture is the side we haven’t used. Nice, shiny and smooth. Beautiful for now.The next picture is the side we have used, 3 times now. It’s no longer smooth. It is feeling a bit rough. We don’t let water ever stay on it, we know better. We wash, we dry, and we oil with food grade mineral oil, just like with my other boards. So I’m not not sure what’s going on. Yes there are knife marks, that’s expected, so I don’t think that is causing the roughness now. But it definitely isn’t like the unused side. It’s like running your hand over wood that hasn’t been sanded now.The board isn’t very flat. It could be just our board, but it does wobble on the countertop. And where the wood is glued together, I’m worried this section might separate. It’s still together, but it’s not as together as the other areas of wood.Hopefully the manufacturer sees this review and can help me out. I’ll update if they do.

Nice board – Watch for defects
2 things: the wood as delivered is extremely dry. When you start applying oil you will literally see the wood sucking up the oil. Keep oiling! Do the ends. Stand the board up on it’s end (it won’t fall over) and start oiling. I’ve never seen wood absorb oil this fast. I’ve been doing this for 2 months and it’s good now. If you don’t do this it will act like a sponge with water and then you’ll have mold. After lots and lots of oiling I must say the board is a pleasure to use. I love the weight of it, it doesn’t want to move around. The built in tray on one side is extremely useful. The grooves on the other side have great capacity. My 2nd issue is mine came with a crack noticable from one side. Not a split but checking. I decided to keep the board anyway but if my next one has this I will ask for a replacement. Overall, I love the board. Just remember wooden cutting boards need to be maintained. This one especially.
